Pick one job nobody has time for. Software does it on a schedule, and stops when it is unsure.

Hand over one job that repeats, and get the result where a person can approve it. Every answer is checked against the system it came from before anyone sees it.

One job first, not your whole business
The old way stays until the new way is proven
It stops rather than guessing
You approve the result

What an owner actually gets back

Four different businesses, four different jobs. Find the shape, not the industry.

Every month

The close stops eating a day

A report somebody assembles by hand out of three systems. It arrives built, with the figures already reconciled against the system they came from. A person reads it and sends it.

Every day

The follow-up nobody gets to

The list of people due a call, a recall, a renewal or a chase. Built every morning from the system of record, so it is never the list somebody meant to make last week.

Every deadline

The thing that must not be missed

Notices, renewals, certificates, inspections. Dates computed rather than remembered, with a warning before the deadline and an alarm if it passes with nothing recorded.

Every inbox

The reply that waits two days

Routine questions drafted from your own policy and queued for a person to send. Anything unusual, sensitive or legal is handed straight to a human instead.

How one job runs

Five parts. You already have all five; today three of them are a person.

How one job runs: trigger, work, check, delivery, approval A diagram of a job in five stages left to right. A trigger box reads "a date, a file arriving, or a message". An arrow leads to a work box reading "pull, assemble, draft". An arrow leads to a check box reading "does it agree with the source", drawn with two outcomes: pass continues to a delivery box reading "lands where you already keep things", then to an approval box reading "a person approves"; fail branches downward to a stop box reading "stops, and says why" with nothing delivered. The diagram is a concept drawing, not a screenshot of software. WHAT STARTS IT A date, a file, a message THE WORK Pull, assemble, draft THE CHECK Does it agree with where it came from? PASSES WHERE IT LANDS The folder you already use WHO LOOKS A person approves it FAILS IT STOPS Nothing is delivered, and the person who owns this job is told which figures disagreed.
One job, five parts. The check is the part that is usually in somebody's head, and the part worth writing down.

What it looks like when it stops

The part nobody else shows, and the part that should decide whether you trust it running unwatched.

A run that stopped, and what it told the owner A notice of a stopped run. A header reads STOPPED with the job name and the time. Three labeled rows give the reason, that the figure produced disagreed with the figure the source system reports; what was delivered, which is nothing; and who was told, the person who owns the job. A closing line states that a run which guesses when unsure is worse than one that does nothing. This is a concept drawing of a notice, not a screenshot of software. STOPPED month-end report · run 128 · 03:14 WHY IT STOPPED The total it produced did not match the total the source system reports for the same period. WHAT WAS DELIVERED Nothing. No part of it was filed. WHO WAS TOLD The person who owns this job, with both figures. A half-finished report reads as complete to whoever is holding it. So nothing partial is ever delivered.
Stopping is the feature. A system that guesses when it is unsure cannot be told apart from one that is right, just by looking at the output.

Then the next job

You choose the order, by what hurts most.

The second is cheaper

The connections to your systems already exist, so a second job is mostly deciding what it should do and what would make it wrong.

You can read the instructions

What the agent does is written in plain words, in your language, and you can change them. It is not a box you cannot see into.

You can leave with everything

The instructions, the history and the record are yours to export. We would rather earn the next month than hold on to the last one.

When this is the wrong idea

Worth saying, because a supplier who disqualifies nobody is telling you something.

The job is different every time

If there is no repeatable shape yet, there is nothing to hand over. Write it down first; that is useful on its own.

You want nobody reviewing it

A person approves what carries your name. If that is not what you want, we are not the right supplier.

The judgment is the job

A legal call, a clinical call, a pricing call. Those stay with the person accountable for them. We automate the work around them.

Where to start

One conversation, and you do most of the talking.

Bring one job

Something somebody does every week or every month. Tell us what starts it, what the work is, and how you would know it came out wrong.

We tell you if it fits

Including when it does not. The third question is the one people pause on, and the pause is the useful part.

Then one job, not ten

It runs beside the way you do it now until it has been right often enough that you stop checking. You decide when that is.
